Welcome Friends

The congregation at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church in Holbrook invites you and your family to join us at our Divine Service and various church events.  When you come to our church you will be welcomed by a loving Christian community and experience God’s presence in your life. You will hear lessons and sermons from the Bible, pray to our Lord, and sing traditional Christian songs.  You will be comforted with the good news of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection and learn about yourself, God, and the world.  You will share in the blessings that Jesus brings all who believe in Him. See the beliefs section to learn more about Christian teaching.

We have been spreading and teaching the word of Christ in this community for over 100 years.  We are located in Holbrook at the intersection of Coates and Railroad. Please see the visitor’s page for more information about our worship, Sunday School, and what to expect when you come.  We also have activities for young people, an active Ladies’ Aide, Bible studies and special services during holiday seasons.

We also have a preschool for 2, 3 and 4 year-old children open to all children. Our school offers an academic program taught by certified teachers to prepare your children for kindergarten in a safe, Christian environment.  Our school has educated over a thousand children over the past 30 years and has an excellent reputation in the Sachem area.

In addition, our church has many social and community events throughout the year.  We have an annual picnic in September that is free for all, movie nights.  We also run a food pantry which is open 5 days/week and host several fundraisers for our needy neighbors throughout the year.

When you visit us, God will speak to you through His Word.  His truth will challenge you while comforting you with the good news of what Jesus did for you.  May the peace of God which surpasses all understanding guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

God Bless You and Your Family,
Your friends at St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church
